Working on this project with an app developer for the first time gave me valuable insight into their goals and values in app design. One of the biggest challenges I faced was that we did not always see eye-to-eye throughout the process, as my previous projects had all been solo. It helped me not only become a more effective communicator but also manage projects more effectively by establishing shared timelines. I also learned to balance advocating for core features and compromising when necessary to support the team. Overall, this project simulated a real-world experience and made me feel more confident in my abilities as a UI/UX designer.

Throughout the design process, there were many features that my partner and I wanted to incorporate into the app. Due to the accelerated timeframe, we decided to set some of these features aside. One of our future goals is to expand this app into a social platform for users to rate, share, and browse for recipes. As well as an auto-advance feature during step-by-step instructions, which reduces the need for users to constantly scroll. Additionally, improving the scaling features in the app to include more advanced calculations would benefit users further, such as allowing users to keep track of the ingredients they have at home so that the app can calculate limiting ingredients automatically. With features such as these, users may never wish to reach for another recipe app again.
